YOGA TEACHER TRAINING 2019

Anne-Marie McGlinchey is due to commence a Yoga Teacher Training course in September 2019 in Dunree Yoga Centre, Buncrana, Co. Donegal. This comprehensive one year course has been structured and designed to facilitate those who are interested in their own personal development and for those who have a passion and interest in teaching yoga to beginners with the needs of modern day society in mind. The course will consist of 12 weekends - two of which will be residential and will cover all aspects of teaching yoga from the philosophy through to the practical. Some modules of this course are also suitable for those already qualified in teaching yoga to upskill and enhance their knowledge. #1 September 27/29, 2019
Introductory Weekend to include an overview of all aspects of the Yoga Teacher Training Programme. This course is not only practical in nature but on a personal level is regarded as a course for the self-development of the individual.

#2* October 18/20, 2019 (residential)
The philosophy of yoga according to the Bhagavad Gita presented in a simple and tangible way, enabling teachers to impart this
knowledge in their classes.

#3* November 15/17, 2019
An introduction to the Chakra System – Part 1. This module introduces the philosophy of the Chakra System in a holistic way.
Students will experience and learn how to use this knowledge in a practical way in their teaching and in their own personal lives.

#4* December 6/8, 2019
Anatomy & physiology – Part 1. Incorporating the nervous system/ respiratory/circulatory in relation to the teaching of yoga
asanas and pranayama.

#5* January 24/26, 2020
Philosophy – An in-depth study of Pantanjali’s 8 limbs of Yoga and its practical implications for teaching, from the Yamas &
Niyamas to meditation.

#6* February 21/23, 2020
Anatomy & Physiology – Part 2. A study of the digestive system/muscular system and skeletal system in relation to yoga postures
and the teaching of yoga.

#7* March 20/22, 2020
Chakra System – Part 2, the correlation between asanas/pranayama and the various chakra centres. Gaining a deeper
understanding of the vibrational connection with nature, the elements and our own physical, spiritual, mental and emotional bodies

#8 April 24/26, 2020
Presentations from students, confidence building. Guided lesson planning – group work.

#9* May 22/24, 2020
This weekend will focus in detail on the deeper awareness & understanding of yoga relaxation and the basic principles of yoga
asanas. Discussions on modifications of yoga postures, benefits & contra indications and yoga for common ailments.

#10 June 19/21, 2020
First Aid Course presented by external tutor. The practical aspects of teaching yoga to beginners will be addressed and various
techniques to access the silence of meditation will also be covered.

July/August 2020

#11 September, 2020 Date to be confirmed
Practical presentations from students. Guidelines re. organisation of yoga classes (all aspects covered). Code of Ethics.

#12* October, 2020 (residential) Date to be confirmed
Resume of the course. This final weekend gives an opportunity for an overview of the year’s course. A practical weekend
connecting the authentic philosophy of yoga to everyday living.
